AcuroVet® is growing but we want more veterinarians to help us grow further! Throughout the years of Acuro, I have exhibited Acuro at holistic and acupuncture focused conferences. It was so fun to meet so many people and learn how differently we all manage our practices.

Dr. Maureen Kelleher is an equine veterinarian specializing in lameness, imaging, and surgery. In addition to her commitment to AcuroVet®, she is a clinical assistant professor of equine sports medicine and surgery at Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center. She is board certified in large animal surgery and a certified veterinary acupuncturist.

Food on the Road
During my year as a solo intern veterinarian at a referral equine hospital, I ate microwave pizza nearly every night. Like many in this setting, I also devoured any food offered to me or within reach, particularly if it contained sugar. I managed to maintain a normal body shape purely based on calorie expenditure but we all know that these poor dietary choices will catch up with us at some point. Battle Cry of the Road Warrior
One of the best perks of ambulatory practice is climbing back into the truck in between appointments. Whether it is a 10 minute jaunt to the next farm, or an hour commute up the freeway; this space and time provide the perfect opportunity to make calls, think, decompress, and participate in one of my favorite activities-- Truck Karaoke!Pull up next to my vehicle at any given stoplight and, chances are, you will witness a full volume vocal performance.
