According to my clock it is just one minute after the start time and it looks like there are a few people still joining, so I'll just wait another minute or two and then we will get started.

Okay, why don't we go ahead and get started and this will be recorded for anybody who's missing it they can watch it at a later time point.

So hopefully everybody can see my screen. I just want to welcome you all to this webinar.

I'm going to start with a little bit of an introduction of myself and a short history of how AcueroVet came to be and then we'll finish up with just a brief overview of some of the new features that were recently released in version 5.9. Excuse me.

Okay, so as an introduction, my name is Maureen Kelleher and I am an equine veterinarian. I have specialities in surgery and sports medicine.

I've been practising veterinary medicine for about 20 years and I have had the privilege of working in both a private practise setting as well as an academic setting. In addition to surgery and sports medicine,

I also have training in veterinary acupuncture and chiropractic. So here is just a little timeline of our history.

I am one of the co-founders of AcuroVet and this started as basically a frustration project for me. I was doing a lot of acupuncture appointments but was finding it a little bit difficult to relay some of my acupuncture findings to the clients who may not have been present for the appointment or even relaying some of my findings to others in my practice who didn't understand what the crazy letters and numbers were that I was writing in my traditional medical notes.

So I came up with this idea to create an image model of the patient's species that had acupuncture points mapped out on the body which I could tap on to indicate where the patient might have been sore, painful or sensitive and then also where

I had put treatment needles in the patient. And so after pairing with a technology partner, we developed an iPad based application which we called Acuro and that had a horse, a dog and a cat body maps with the most popular acupuncture points mapped out on them.

And that was released for subscription for veterinary acupuncturists around the world and that was released in 2014.

We gathered customers along the way and with each new user we received lots of requests for different feature upgrades, the first of which was adding chiropractic features because many people who do acupuncture also do chiropractic.

And then we added billing features and other different features over the years. And what we learned after a couple years is that it became very clear to us that we needed a more robust encompassing veterinary electronic medical records platform to serve all of the veterinary injury, not just the vets that were doing acupuncture and chiropractic care.

So in 2018 we released what we now call AcuroVet, which is our first step into a full service practise management solution.

So today, since we have done from the very start, we listen very closely to our customers needs and wants based on what what those features can do for their practice and we are continually adding to AcuroVet.

So today we have customers ranging from those that strictly do acupunctures to those that don't do any acupuncture.

We also have veterinarians that cover a variety of species from small animal to equine to food producing animals and we have clients that are generalists and we have clients that are specialists.

We have mobile veterinarians and we have those that are confined to that comfort of their brick-and-mortar offices. And we also have clients that customers that meet their clients face-to-face and we have those that predominantly perform telemedicine.

So with the introduction of AcuroVet we incorporated as Acuro our main company with AcuroVet being our flagship product.
